Getting started video using IntelliJ

The getting started video tutorial we had until recently was from 2022. It worked perfectly with the latest versions of OpenXava and, from a teaching point of view, it was impeccable. But being perhaps the most important video on the OpenXava channel, it needed an update. And now we present to you the brand-new 2026 version.

The main feature is that we use IntelliJ as the IDE, instead of OpenXava Studio. IntelliJ is the IDE used by 85% of Java programmers, and we know that many of you use it with OpenXava. That’s why we want this to be a friendly introduction for Java developers, using their favorite tools.

In addition, as a bonus, in one part of the tutorial we use an AI assistant to write the code, adapting to the reality of 2026.
